Parque Natural de Las Lagunas de La Mata
And here we have the sea. Or rather, its influence. Around 70 km to the south of Casa Balaguer, in Torrevieja, we craft unique wines from beautiful vineyards located within the Las Lagunas de La Mata Natural Park, a protected area and bird sanctuary with marine soils and siliceous sands, constantly kissed by coastal breezes.
Here, under the intense Mediterranean light and shimmering salt reflections, we grow ungrafted Muscat of Alexandria, a near-extinct rarity in one of the few remaining vineyards in Europe still planted on original rootstock. These vines give us dry white wines with crisp acidity, saline texture, and an absolutely unparalleled varietal expression.
Working in this environment is a privilege, but one that demands the utmost respect. That’s why we also apply organic and biodynamic practices here, fully integrated with the surrounding ecosystem. Every intervention serves the natural balance of this unique site.
- Marine soils: high salinity and sandy texture.
- Direct maritime influence: fresh, vibrant, energetic wines.
- Protected ecological enclave: we work with utmost care.
- Ancestral variety: ungrafted Muscat of Alexandria from pre-phylloxera vineyards, the pest never reached them!
As you can see, our land is authentic, diverse, and deeply alive. We simply accompany it, learn from it… and tell its story through wine.
